Welcome to the Pennsylvania Neurological Society
The Pennsylvania Neurological Society is dedicated to improving the science and practice of neurology in Pennsylvania through education, advocacy, and the exchange of ideas amongst neurologists in innovative and cutting edge neurological advances.
A Glimpse into the Society's History
Founded in 2007, our society has been at the forefront of advancing neurology in Pennsylvania. Over the years, we’ve created a vibrant community dedicated to education, advocacy, and the exchange of innovative ideas. Our history reflects a commitment to improving patient care and supporting professionals in the field. Join us as we continue to shape the future of neurology together.
The Pennsylvania Neurological Society is a 501(c)3 organization. It grew out of an increasing recognition that decisions affecting patient care and providers within the scope of neurology in Pennsylvania often occur with inadequate involvement by neurologists. This can only change when neurological care providers work together to make a difference.
As a result of these needs, and the potential to improve neurology education, collegiality and networking amongst neurologists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants across the state, the Pennsylvania Neurological Society was born.
Its goals include:
- Improve the practice of Neurology and Child Neurology within the state of Pennsylvania.
- Encourage a sense of community and provide networking opportunities between Pennsylvania’s adult and child neurology providers.
- Advocate on behalf of patients with neurological disease and enhance public awareness and understanding of neurological disorders.
- Represent Pennsylvania neurologists and their extenders to the public, government, media, and other organizations that involve the practice of neurology.
- Conduct, support and sponsor educational endeavors for its members.

I am a board certified neurologist with additional training in EMG and neuromuscular medicine within St. Luke’s Neurology Associates and St. Luke’s Center for Neuroscience. My interest in Neurology blossomed during my medical training in India. The unique complexity of human nervous system has, and will always fascinate me.
I pursued my internship at York Hospital, a neurology residency at Drexel University College of Medicine and Fellowship at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. After my training, I worked at Penn State Hershey Medical center for 5 years, where the focus of my practice was to care for patients with neuromuscular disorders, such as muscle diseases, muscular dystrophies, neuropathies and myasthenia gravis. I have a special interest in patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease) and was the associate director of the Penn State Hershey ALS clinic for 3 years. I was in West Virginia for the last year at WVU college of Medicine and am coming back to Pennsylvania, which has been home for us for the last 10 years.
I believe in a team approach to patient care and work with a great multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, neurosurgeons, ophthalmologists and genetic counselors. I take great pride in my patient care, my dealing with the patients and their families and strongly believe in communication at each step of their workup, treatment and management options.
Outside of work, I like to travel and enjoy spending time with my husband and two little boys.
