Dr. Ingrid Loma-Miller is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh and Assistant Division Chief at the Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center at Magee Hospital, UPMC. Prior to joining UPMC, she served as Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Tidewater at Neurology Consultants of Tidewater in Norfolk, Virginia. She specializes in pediatric and adult multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmune disorders and serves as principal investigator of several clinical trials for MS and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder. Her research interests include neuroimmunological disorders and pregnancy.
Dr. Loma-Miller is a recognized leader in neurology at the regional and national levels. She currently serves as President-Elect of the Pennsylvania Neurology Society . She is a member of the National Medical Advisory Board of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and previously served as Chairman of the Health Provider Council of the Virginia/West Virginia/Maryland & DC Chapter of the National MS Society and as an Executive Board Member of the Virginia Neurology Society. She is also an Executive Board Member of the Latino Alliance of Neuroimmunology (LANI), an organization that develops educational programs in Spanish for patients and providers regarding multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunological disorders.
Dr. Loma-Miller is deeply committed to advancing health equity and inclusive excellence in academic medicine. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Neurology Diversity Leadership Program, through which she strengthened her ability to lead collaborative, equity-focused initiatives by working with neurologists nationwide on a project to expand global AAN engagement. She serves as the inaugural Chair of the NEUROCARES Committee (formerly the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee) in the Pitt/UPMC Department of Neurology. Under her leadership, the committee has pursued initiatives including collaboration with the Residency Didactic Education
